Depending on the extent of mold or mildew and if your window sill is made of rough sawn pine wood, the mold may have impregnated the surface of the rough wood (deep staining). If this is the case, then you would need to sand the surfaces in order to properly remove the mold roots. If you do not want to sand the areas, you could try using a light brisel brush with 10% bleach to attempt to remove the stains. This might lighten the stains but will not eliminate the roots. Sounds like you have elevated moisture levels in your property and you may need more efficient air circulation to reduce the amount of relative humidity or moisture in the house. Ideally, I would want to inspect the property and see the damage firsthand before making a specific recommendation. Please call me if you want me to come out to inspect or discuss the specifics with you on the phone at 831-899-3938.   « less

Typically, when we encounter water damaged fabric or clothing with rust and or water stains, we sub-contract the restoration to a professional dry cleaning company who we have used for a number of years. Normal practice is to take articles while still wet straight to the cleaners so they can evaluate the damages and potential restorations.
